How can a student be referred?
Parents, schools, community agencies and physicians may refer a preschool child for services. All other students should be referred as part of the ongoing continuum of services offered by the school systems. An extensive intake process is completed analyzing home and school situations, as well as the child’s emotional, intellectual, and academic functioning levels. A placement committee then meets to determine the most appropriate and least restrictive services for the child. Due process requirements are carried out in accordance with Public Law 94-142 (IDEA).
GNETS of Oconee strives to offer students a new perspective to help them achieve their academic, social, and behavioral goals so that they can make the choices to be successful in school.
